Laddus are once used antiseptic medicine !!! Know the story behind it 🤓
Around 4 th century BC,an Indian physician Susruta used laddus as an antiseptic to treat his surgical patients.He used the most ingredients with rich nutritional properties like sesame seeds, jaggery as well as peanuts that is today known as til laddu.In Ayurveda black sesame seeds maintains blood pressure, indigestion, cures cold and even today new mothers and pregnant women are given ladoos in rural areas as a means to boost their immunity. In south indian parts especially in Kerala it's called as Ellunda which is considered as the most healthy snack for a wonderful evening.
Black sesame laddu or Ellunda Recipe :
Ingredients:
1) Black sesame Seeds
2) Coconut
3) Jaggery
Preparation:
*Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan over medium flame.
*Stir continuously, and roast until they start to burst.
*Allow to cool.
*Crush sesame seeds using mixer grinder.
*Grind grated coconut and jaggery separately .
*Mix all the ingredients well.
*Then grind all ingredients one round in the mixe.
*Pick a handful of mixture and make small even sized balls
